Purpose of Position:
Manage the entire PGR geological framework (Static models, well picks, and well proposals) to achieve the Development and Growth Departments plans.
Principal Accountabilities: -
- Generate an integrated predictive geological model to address/resolve the subsurface challenges using properly Q’ced data of: seismic, calibrated log-to-core, pressure, production, correlations, and conceptual geological modeling.
- Estimate the hydrocarbon volumes either deterministically using low, mid and high case scenarios, or probabilistically using Monte-carlo simulation.
- Propose, develop and follow up technical studies undertaken by external contractors and subsurface teams.
- Prepare comprehensive pre-drill and post-drill documentation, monitor drilling activities and suggest timely course of correction.
- Identify the appraisal / development well and well intervention opportunities & suggest the appropriate course of action to be taken in order to maximize oil production.
- Interact with other assets (Internal1y/ externally) to share/discuss case studies, exploration prospects, new technologies, challenges and uncertainties which will improve the Asset’s understanding and production.
- Coach and guide less experienced geologists /Trainees to strengthen their geological capabilities and skills.

- Drilling process is in line with wells original plan.
Know How:
- BSc in Geology, 10-20 Years’ Experience.
- Understanding South Oman Geology, Static Modeling.
- Good Knowledge in Dynamic Reservoir Behavior, Seismic, Petro Physics and Production Background.
- Strong Skills in Well Picking and FDP Write Up.
