Purpose of the role:

  • Oversee and manage the entire taxation (Direct & Indirect) matters including international taxes (Middle East, European Union, Asia) for the Group. Ensuring tax compliances for all relevant regions, coordination with all local teams and resolving the tax issues and ensuring the timeliness & accuracy, including CbCR, Master Files, Transfer Pricing Documents, Tax optimization, BEPS, evaluation of contracts for tax matters.
  • Manage Shareholders’ taxation in order to make sure all shareholders transactions are tax compliant.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Develop tax strategies and policies for the group company to optimize its tax position and minimize tax risks.
  • Advise senior management and subsidiary companies on tax-related matters, including tax planning, compliance, and optimization of tax benefits.
  • Manage the coordination tax activities across the group company to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and compliance.
  • Monitor and assess changes in tax laws and regulations and analyze their impact on the group company's tax position and compliance requirements. Implement tax planning and compliance strategies and procedures for the group company to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations.
  • Implement, review and endorse tax-related documents and reports, such as tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and tax provision calculations, for accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Implement and asses group documentations to ensuring the compliance with VAT regulations and appropriate accounting and advise the management on VAT impacts & implication on several transactions & contracts
  • Along with focal person from subsidieries, represent the group company in tax-related matters, such as audits, appeals, and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Analyze and assess the group company's tax position, including tax liabilities, deductions, and credits, and develop tax planning strategies to optimize its tax benefits. 10. Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders on tax-related matters, such as tax risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as finance, legal, and tax authorities, to ensure effective tax planning and compliance.
  • Develop and implement processes and systems for tax compliance and reporting.
  • Ensuring the compliance with VAT regulations and appropriate accounting and advise the management on VAT impacts & implication on several transactions & contracts; Support transfer pricing audits, including responding to tax authorities on matters or queries relating to transfer pricing in several jurisdictions;
  • Computation and compliance of Corporate taxation including submission of tax returns in Oman
  • Managing the Withholding Tax and ensuring the compliance thereof.

Principal Challenges:

  • Providing timely, accurate and relevant information to support the decision making process;
  • Compliant with Different tax regulations.
  • Gathering relevant information from diverse group of subsidiaries spread over various geographies and governed by different taxation Laws;
  • Provide Management with quick responses on several tax compliances and implication based on the analysis of transactions and contracts;

Minimum Academic/ Professional Qualifications:

    • Graduate in the related field, plus.
    • Professional Financial Certification CA, ACCA or CPA.

Minimum Work Experience :

    • Minimum 10 Years in the taxation field.
    • At least 5 years of work experience in Oman / GCC Countries.

Skills & Competencies Required:

    • Ability to understand and interpret the Tax Laws;
    • Expert knowledge and experience in handling corporate / income tax, WHT,  VAT, international taxation, BEPS, Transfer pricing, CbCR, good understanding of  legal& taxation matters involved in transactions;
    • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and stakeholders under tight deadlines(month/quarter/year end deadlines);
    • Well versed with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), ERPs, database systems and industry relevant software;
    • Self-motivated, detail orientated and hands-on mentality;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English);
    • Eye for detail, troubleshooting and excellent communications skills;
    • Good analytical and evaluation skills;
    • A self-motivated person with ability to perform with minimum supervision;
