Purpose of the Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional to join our Group Finance team. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely preparation of consolidated and standalone financial statements in compliance with IFRS. The incumbent will support the Group consolidation process, financial reporting, audit coordination, and continuous improvement of reporting systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated and standalone financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including notes and disclosures.
- Review financial submissions from subsidiaries and ensure compliance with Group accounting policies.
- Perform and review consolidation adjustments, including:
- Intercompany eliminations
- Unrealized profit eliminations
- Equity accounting adjustments
- Prepare fair value adjustments, business combination accounting, and investment-related workings where applicable.
- Consolidate budgets and forecasts from subsidiaries while ensuring alignment with Group assumptions and reporting timelines.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare quarterly Group financial review reports (MD&A), including:
- Financial performance analysis
- Operational results
- Liquidity analysis
- Capital resources review
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and management analysis as required.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.
- Ensure timely resolution of audit queries and support the audit process.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS and Group accounting standards.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Maintain and update Group accounting manuals, reporting templates, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial reporting and consolidation processes.
- Support implementation and enhancement of consolidation and reporting systems.
- Provide guidance and support to subsidiary finance teams on Group reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subsidiary finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Build strong working relationships to facilitate smooth execution of reporting activities.
Principal Challenges
- Managing multiple reporting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Driving continuous process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Keeping up to date with evolving IFRS standards and best practices.
- Coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the Group.
Qualifications
- CA / CPA / CFA with a strong academic background.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and consolidation.
- Hands-on experience with:
- IFRS financial reporting
- Group financial consolidation
- Financial analysis
- Automation of financial reporting processes
- Experience with Oracle ERP is an added advantage.
